I went to my local grocery store ...eddies of Mt. Vernon......Not a lot of love given to that place.....the used-to-be-white-in-the-seventies floor is now yellow as well as the walls. It seems that everyone who works there other than the occasional youth(who, don't last long) every one who works there has been working there for well over a decade....I was wondering if its staffed by a local half way house or prison/mental work release program? Thers the one guy that is about 50 who I always see out side smoking who dresses like he's been alone for a long time... An eon....then there is Patti, who is always so friendly but not in an articulate way more of like a ...simple way. There's the other cashier that may or may not have been a man @ some point ....a truly colorful cast of characters who I actually look forward to seeing because. They are Mt Vernon staples...all friendly I guess maybe because they are so much more expensive yet the quality of their wares are mediocre to poor @ best? I start to feel frustrated because I feel like half wits are making a chump out of me...that's a terribly elitist and paranoid thought but man in the words of Dave Liles Sound Engineer extraordinaire to a complacent poughkeepsie sound man----"Just Care!!!!"
Their place could do with a lot a love...and not so many cigarettes..........mike
